Abstract
The solution of the wave equation for the case of second harmonic beam (SHB) analysis of an ultrashort laser pulse consisting of two gaussian subpulses is given. Using the expressions obtained the temporal resolution of the SHB method is investigated for varying subpulse duration and separation. Keywords
