Abstract
Both Zetzellia mali (Ewing) and Agistemus fleschneri Summers are predators of the European red mite, Panonychus ulmi (Koch). Z. mali has been observed in the Ohio State University experimental orchard at Carroll since integrated control studies began there in 1966. I did not know that A. fleschneri was also present in the orchard until September 1970, when it was collected from the apple cultivar, ‘Red Delicious.’ It was not present at that time on nearby ‘Jonathan’ trees. (The 2 mite species, resembling one another, were determined by D. E. Johnston, Department of Entomology, Ohio State University.)
