Headache Following Subarachnoid Puncture

Abstract
After hydration and analgesics had failed to alleviate symptoms in a patient with an incapacitating headache secondary to spinal puncture, the injection of autologous blood into the epidural space afforded prompt and permanent relief. "Patching" the dural hole with autologous blood is the most direct therapy available. This procedure may be considered for patients who continue to experience incapacitating symptoms following a trial of supportive therapy.
