Abstract
Exposure of larvae of 5 mosquito species, beginning with 3rd instars, led to LC-95 (inhibition of development) values ranging from 0.005 to 0.01 ppm for OMS-1803 and 0.001 to 0.005 ppm for OMS-1804. Flour treated with 0.01% or 0.05% of these compounds added to test pans as an initial feeding was effective in preventing emergence of adults. The compounds appeared to affect the molting process. Against the house fly, OMS-1804 as a larval medium treatment was markedly more effective than OMS-1803. A concentration of 5 ppm OMS-1804 prevented development to the pupal stage. Keywords
