Pancreatic Atrophy in Young Beagle Dogs

Abstract
Six young Beagle dogs had non-inflammatory pancreatic atrophy associated with lack of weight gain and low serum protein levels. Histologically there was severe atrophy with loss of acinar architecture and absence of islets of Langerhans (type 1), or partial atrophy with preserved islets (type 2). The correlation between histological type and clinical severity was poor.
