Abstract
The syphilologist continues to eye with anxiety the decreasing sensitivity of the gonococcus to penicillin, despite the fact that so far there is no evidence that the treponeme is following suit. King analyses a number of studies in Great Britain which demonstrate clearly that many strains of the gonococcus now require higher concentrations of penicillin than they did in the past. Keywords
