Abstract
A recessive mutant, tra, in D. melanogaster which transforms diploid females into sterile males was previously reported. The tra gene was located at 45 map units on the 3rd chromosome. Another mutant, tra-2, is described which is similar to tra in its action but is located on the 2nd chromosome. Interactions of tra-2 with the SR (cytoplasmic sex-ratio) factor and with the tra are also examined. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
