Abstract
In 1962 during air blast spraying of apple orchards and field spraying of vegetables and grain by aircraft, high pressure and air blast machines with insecticide formulations containing malathion, Sevin, endrin, parathion, and Guthion, the maximum total exposures of spray operators to each of these insecticides was calculated at less than 1% of the toxic dose. Observations during the course of spray operations revealed a laxness in the attitude of most spray operators towards cautious spraying practices. This may account for some of the sickness that has been reported in workers who have been engaged year by year in the spraying of insecticides in the Province of Quebec. Keywords
