Abstract
Reports of explosions in operating theatres, traceable to the action of electric sparks on mixtures of anaesthetics and oxygen, have stressed the need for all fabrics as well as other equipment, which cannot become electrified by friction or otherwise. This paper deals with the preparation and behaviour of fabrics composed partly of viscose rayon yarns incorporating carbon black and therefore being of a conducting rather than insulating character. Reference is made to the time lapse for moisture regain of normal fabrics. Keywords
