Laser emission and amplification at 1.3 μm in neodymium-doped fluorophosphate fibres

Abstract
Laser emission and amplification have been studied in the 1.3 μm spectral region on the 4F3/24I13/2transition in Nd3+-doped fluorophosphate singlemode fibres. Pumping at 800nm yields an extracted laser power of 10mW at 1.323 μm. A gain higher than 3dB was obtained at the same wavelength in the amplifier experiment.
