Abstract

Neutron diffraction measurements are reported for VCl₄, CCl₄, SiCl₄, TiCl₄, GeCl₄, SnCl₄ and special mixtures of TiCl₄+ SiCl₄ and TiCl₄+ SnCl₄ using both reactor (steady-state) and linac (pulsed) neutron techniques. Information is extracted for the molecular structure and, in certain cases, for the real-space distribution function of the chlorine atoms.
