Abstract
Two analytical frameworks for identifying and measuring the processes of phonological change in the speech of children with developmental speech disorders are described. The frameworks are illustrated by an examination and evaluation of longitudinal data from children with this type of disorder. The ways in which clinicians can use the two frameworks to guide treatment planning are discussed. Keywords
