Abstract
Last week, seven prominent scientists held an hour-long tutorial for a special audience: the president and vice president of the United States. The topic was climate change, and the White House event marked the start of a public education effort that the president says is aimed at "convincing the American people and the Congress that the climate-change problem is real and imminent." The effort culminates in December in Kyoto, Japan, where most of the world9s nations are expected to sign an agreement setting limits on greenhouse gas emissions. Keywords
