Abstract
Transient photoconductivity measurements have been made on KBr crystals containing centers as a function of electric and magnetic field at low temperature. The wavelength dependence of the observed photocurrent is discussed in terms of the known properties of centers. Transverse-magnetoconductivity results were obtained which indicate that the conduction band of KBr is isotropic. Hot-electron effects were also observed at low temperature and were compared with an approximate theory involving a mixture of scattering mechanisms. Reasonable values of the low-field mobility parameters are obtained which can be used for interpretation of cyclotron-resonance experiments.
