Abstract
An investigation of water absorption from the small intestine after abdominal surgery has produced more detailed information on the effect of trauma on the motility of the gastro-intestinal tract. Whereas after trauma the equilibration of tritiated water given by the oral and colonic routes is retarded, given by the jejunal route it is normal. Keywords
