Abstract
An explicit relation for exponential diffuser-transmittance power spectrum is derived in terms of the diffuser-surface statistics. Although closed-form solutions are not generally possible, some insight into the relations follows from expressions that are developed for zero-order energy and the mean-square spread of the spectrum. Known relations for gaussian diffusers are compared to those derived for exponential diffusers. An example of a possible diffuser phase correlation is used to illustrate the analysis. Keywords
