Abstract
In the hereditary obese hyperglycemic syndrome of mice, I131 uptake is normal and the anoxia test reveals no difference in dependence on O2 tension. The significance of these findings is discussed with respect to the etiology of the syndrome, and to the extension of the concept of basal metabolic rate to obese animals. Keywords
