Abstract
Local lesions on maize (Z. mays) seedlings caused by P. sorghi were rated, based on the extent of sporulation on the 2nd leaf. The local-lesion ratings were postively correlated with the amount of systemic infection that developed later, which supports the hypothesis that local-lesion resistance to P. sorghi is associated with systemic infection resistance.
