Abstract
The author discusses the distr., epidemiology and pathology of the various types of leptospirosis, especially those of man and of domestic animals. Methods of diagnosis and treatment are summarized. Brief mention is made of the research being carried on at present in Malaya, Australia, Thailand, French Indo-China, Okinawa, Africa and Argentina. Leptospirosis has also been reported from Brazil, Chile, Cuba, and Puerto Rico. Serological tests have been used to separate many of the reported strains of leptospires. Many of these strains are already known, but a considerable number remain unidentified and need further study before they can be classified. Keywords
