Steady-State Investigations on a Multi-Phase Chopper-Motor System

Abstract
A general procedure to analyse a multi-phase chopper-motor system is presented. The analytical expressions to obtain complete solutions for the load current, load voltage, and individual phase currents are developed. The validity of the analysis developed is checked for a two-phase chopper case. This analysis presented is an improvement over all the existing methods for predicting the multiphase chopper-motor performance.
