Abstract
X‐ray mass absorption coefficients of some elements and oxides used in glassmaking have been computed from 0.01 a.u. (1234 kv.) to characteristic K absorption edges. Using these values, the absorption of X rays by a glass in the wavelength range considered can be readily calculated from its composition expressed in weight fractions of oxide components and its density. Keywords
