Abstract
Historically, the Show System has evolved from the British agricultural show tradition, and this study is an attempt to explain how it has adapted specifically to raise the standards of Australian wine production. The review falls into four time phases, which establish links between the evolution of the Show System and developments within the Australian wine industry itself. It finds an organisation that continues to reinvent itself in its efforts to advance the quality and commerce of Australian wine. Keywords
