Abstract
Stagnant water in the boiler of a dental unit can cause a high bacterial density. A spiral unit is somewhat superior to a boiler in this respect, Normal unchlorinated tapwater is the main problem in achieving hygienic conditions in dental practice. The technical performance of the unit is only partly responsible for the water quality. Keywords
