Abstract
Biologic Implications of HBs AG-Bearing ParticlesThe presence of circular DNA of uniform size in Dane particles makes this structure the leading candidate for the complete hepatitis B virion (HBV) among the recognized particles in infectious plasma. Its size is consistent with studies showing that the infectious agent for hepatitis B passes through a membrane filter with an average pore diameter of 52 nm.73 The estimated number of Dane particles in most serum from chronic HBs Ag carriers (108 to 109 per milliliter26) is consistent with the observation74 that inoculation of 1 ml of a 10–7 dilution of . . .This publication has 39 references indexed in Scilit:
