Abstract
Radiative electron capture (REC) by swift heavy ions in encounters with target atoms has been studied for a variety of collision systems. It is shown that the intensity profile in the peak region of REC distributions can be accounted for quantitatively on the basis of proper momentum distributions of target electrons. Keywords
