Abstract
A method of obtaining blood from the hamster by intracardiac puncture is described which does away with difficulties previously mentioned in the literature. Blood sugar values by Somogyi''s modification of the Shaffer-Hartmann micro-method in animals on a maintenance diet and a synthetic diet containing 67% sucrose varied between 88.9 [plus or minus] 3.7 and 97.3 [plus or minus] 7.1 for different age groups. Keywords
