Abstract
The Landau-Silin theory of an electron liquid is applied to a two-dimensional system like that occurring in the inversion layer of a metal-insulator-semiconductor structure. The frequency- and wave-vector-dependent electric and magnetic susceptibilities in the presence of a dc magnetic field are studied. The magnetoplasma modes of the system are investigated for both very short and very long wavelengths. Keywords
