Abstract
The polarization of the electret is measured by heating the dielectric in short circuit. Intensity and shape of the depolarization current depend on heating rate; the time integral over the current cannot, therefore, a priori be assumed to be independent of heating rate. This note discusses conditions under which the value of the integral is an invariant that depends only on the initial state of the system, and thus allows one to define the ``frozen‐in'' charge of the electret. This publication has 10 references indexed in Scilit:
