Abstract
This is a review article encompassing the following aspects of collateral ventilation: interalveolar communications; alternative pathways; collateral resistance; pulmonary interdependence; and gas exchange. Examples of data from various mammals in determining these parameters are detailed. Also discussed is the role of collateral ventilation in disease. This publication has 20 references indexed in Scilit:
