Abstract
Using the concepts evolved by Land, McCann, et al., the basis for a new system of object color colorimetry is explored. The method allows the calculation of the effect of the spectral power distribution of illuminants on the perception of surface color in the complex visual scene of the real world. Consequently, the calculation allows the direct comparison of the color rendering properties of lamps of different color temperatures since it implicitly provides for the effect of chromatic adaptation. Keywords
