Abstract
Summary The importance of determining the precise location and extent of the area of aganglionosis has been emphasized. With this knowledge, a sound basis is provided for the proper selection of the type of operation that should be employed in the treatment of congenital megacolon. An attempt has been made to clarify factors that should be considered when making this decision. Keywords
