Abstract
The anterior pituitary-adrenal cortical stimulating effect of U.S. P. epinephrine, synthetic L-epinephrine and norepinephrine, judged by their eosinopenic action, were compared in 15 normal male subjects. Epinephrine is an anterior pituitary-adrenal cortical stimulant whereas norepinephrine is without effect. The eosinopenic action of U.S. P. epinephrine is attendant on its L-epinephrine content and not on the norepinephrine which it contains. Keywords
