Abstract
Two geographic races each of Salvelinus fontinalis and S. alpinus respectively were compared with respect to their upper lethal temperatures and the effect of temperature on cruising speed. The two races of S. fontinalis, which are not recognized morphologically as subspecies, could not be separated on the basis of these tests. A difference in the upper lethal temperatures was found between the two groups of S. alpinus, which are recognized as subspecies. No difference was found in the response of the cruising speed to temperature, however. Keywords
