Abstract
The adequacy of supplies of insecticides and fungicides and of the raw materials from which they are made is discussed with reference to War Production Board Conservation Division Material Substitutions and Supply List of Apr. 15, 1943. As, Cu, pyrethrum and rotenone are among the most critical materials. The principal uses of insecticides and fungicides are pointed out and attention called to promising substitutes. Materials abundant today may be scarce tomorrow, and only by testing numerous materials, especially synthetics, will the entomologist be able to combat insect enemies of vital food crops as the supply of present poisons is diverted to military needs. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
