Abstract
A new and accurate determination of the magnetic moment of the 23875 keV excited state of 119Sn is presented. The mean value, μe=+(0682±0004) nm, obtained using two different absorbers, Co2MnSn and Fe3Sn, is in good agreement with previous measurements. The Heusler alloy Co2MnSn is suggested as a suitable absorber to be used as a Mössbauer velocity calibration standard for 119Sn, and the line positions are given at 42 K and 300 K. In addition some of the other published data relating to the nuclear moments of both 57Fe and 119Sn are clarified. Keywords
