A Replication among School Principals of the Gross Study of Role Conflict Resolution

Abstract
This study tested Gross's theory of role-conflict resolution by collecting measures on the predictor variables in advance of the time at which actors encountered and resolved role conflict. Other procedures closely replicating those used by Gross were also followed. In both situations predictions failed to exceed levels of chance. This raised questions concerning the differences between the studies and concerning the efficacy of the theory.
