Abstract
A survey of adenine salvage metabolism in cultivated and wild plant species was made by assessment of the levels of adenosine nucleosidase. The enzyme level varied among species from undetectable to 80 μmol min−1 g−1. Significant differences of enzyme levels are demonstrated between cultivated and wild apple trees and cherry trees respectively. Keywords
