Abstract
Chronic erythremic myelosis is of unknown origin, has many names, and is therapeutically frustrating. It is characterized by refractory macrocytic anemia and marked megaloblastoid erythroid hyperplasia of the bone marrow. Many investigators believe it is part of the myeloproliferative syndrome. In some cases, it has been the forerunner of acute leukemia. Keywords
