Abstract
The use of optical amplifiers and the optical-fiber embedded Mach-Zehnder architecture to implement reconfigurable discrete-time optical signal processors with direct form I structures is considered. Passive optical fibers and waveguides are used as signal delay lines. 2*2 directional couplers in an embedded Mach-Zehnder layout are used as signal adders and tapping elements. Active fibers (waveguides) are used as signal multipliers. Keywords
