Blood inorganic phosphorus and serum potassium in insulin hypoglycaemia in the sheep.

Abstract
The effect of subcutaneous and intravenous insulin on the blood glucose, blood inorganic phosphorus, and serum potassium levels of fasted sheep has been studied. Depression of blood inorganic phosphorus and of serum potassium, as well as of blood glucose, followed the injection of insulin by both routes. The depressions in blood inorganic phosphorus and serum potassium approximately paralleled those of the glucose with both subcutaneous and intravenous insulin, but the blood inorganic phosphorus remained depressed for a mnch longer time than either blood glucose or serum potassium.
