Abstract
Type or presumed type collections of the type species of Myxotrichum Kunze (≡ Oncidium T. F. L. Nees, Actinospira Corda), Campsotrichwn [Ehrenb.] Pers. and Oncocladium Wallr. have been examined. Campsotrichum bicolor [Ehrenb.] Pers. is congeneric with Myxotrichum chartarum (T. F. L. Nees) Kunze and as M. bicolor ([Ehrenb.] Pers.) Fries provides an earlier name for M. poluninii Apinis. Oncocladium flavum Wallr. is based upon a conidial state of Actinodendron verticillatum (A. L. Smith) Orr and Kuehn, and Trickoderma vulpinum Fuckel is a later synonym of Arachniotus lanatus (Wallr.) Apinis. A brief history of the names Campsotrichum, Oncidium, Myxotrichum, and Actinospira is given and the confusion in Fries's synonymy of M. chartarum is partly explained. Keywords
