Abstract
The correction of serum potassium and phosphate values for erythrocyte contribution arising from hemolysis during blood collection may be made with a fair degree of confidence by evaluating the cellular potassium and phosphorus from the serum hemoglobin. The correction for potassium is appreciable, about 3.3 mEq./L. for each gram of liberated hemoglobin; the correction for phosphorus in fresh specimens is about one tenth as great, and may ordinarily be neglected. Keywords
