Abstract
The charge transfer of doubly charged and trebly charged ions of C, N, O, and Ne with atomic hydrogen at thermal energies is studied. Adiabatic potential-energy curves and radial coupling matrix elements are presented. The collision cross sections are calculated after transforming to a diabatic basis. For the trebly charged ions, there exists at least one exit channel into which charge transfer is highly probable. Cross sections for doubly charged ions are sensitive to the energy-level structure of the ionic species. Keywords
