Abstract
An amorphous sputtered Cu24Zr76 alloy is investigated by means of EXAFS. The spectra, taken at both the Cu and Zr K-absorption edges, are well reconstructed using a subshell modelling. Moreover the results are consistent with X-ray diffraction data. In addition, a weak increase of the Zr EXAFS spectrum after heat treatment is interpreted by a small increase of the Zr coordination number. This suggests that the Zr atoms have a tendency to cluster. Keywords
