Abstract
Streptococcal pharyngitis cannot always be recognized clinically. If the significant morbidity from rheumatic fever is to be reduced, throat cultures must be used to accurately diagnose streptococcal infections. A throat cul ture program was introduced and successfully carried out in a community. The model is presented in hopes of encouraging widespread emulation. Keywords
