Abstract
The relation between pressure and flow in the pulmonary circulation during recumbency appears to be virtually linear in normal people and in mild mitral stenosis but curved in chronic bronchitis. Exercise has no effect on this relation in the former two groups but causes an inappropriate increase in vascular resistance in chronic bronchitis. Keywords
