Abstract
The authors use a finite basis of square integrable functions to represent the ground state of H- and calculate one- and two-photon detachment cross sections. The photodetachment cross sections obtained are in good agreement with previous calculations and experimental data. Two-photon detachment cross sections are found to range between 0 and 10-10 s-1(W cm-2)-2 when the frequency is varied between one- and three-photon detachment threshold. Keywords
