Abstract
Endometriosis is defined as the presence of glandular and stromal endometrial tissue outside the uterus. It occurs most frequently in the reproductive organs, other pelvic viscera, and the peritoneum and is estimated to be present in 3 to 10 percent of all women of reproductive age.
