Abstract

A total synthesis of p-acetamidophenyl β-D-glucopyranosiduronic acid is reported. The type and degree of solvation were determined from the integrated n.m.r. spectra of the compound in [²H₆]dimethyl sulphoxide with and without added [²H₄]acetic acid.
