Abstract
In the present work, we critically examine the literature on performance evaluation and attempt to synthesize it into a coherent contingency theory for office support systems. More specifically, we review the various approaches suggested by others in order to provide an understanding of the technical, economic and psycho-social factors that must form the basis of any evaluation strategy useful to the practitioner. Keywords
